Deliveries are normally made by post or by a courier.
Switzerland and Liechtenstein:
For purchases of up to CHF 29.90:
Standard delivery: CHF 3.40
Priority delivery: CHF 6.40
For purchases exceeding CHF 30.00:
Standard delivery: free of charge (valid only for Switzerland and Liechtenstein)
Priority delivery: CHF 6.40 (valid only for Switzerland and Liechtenstein)
For some special offers on books.ch delivery costs may be cancelled.
Delivery will be by post and payment must be made by a credit card. The following flat-rates and delivery times* are valid:

*Delivery time according to the nature of delivery plus the delivery time of a particular book according to the catalogue. Delivery times cannot be guaranteed. According to the destination and the weight of the delivery, additional customs costs may be incurred.
All prices are understood to include the legally required value added taxes. The prices quoted are subject to price changes by the publisher and the supplier.
All products available in the Webshop are clearly marked with the tag “Online-Price”. They may differ to those published in Orell Füssli branches.
We expressly reserve the right to undertake price changes.
Returning / refunding of a book in perfect and in a saleable condition will be accepted within 10 days of purchase in exchange for a credit voucher.
For copyright reasons downloads (audiobooks, software and eBooks), software, multi-media products, sound storage media, videos and DVDs are excluded.
Any item with a manufacturing defect or any wrong delivery will be replaced with a flawless or correct item.
Please supply us with your customer number, your invoice number and the reason for the return of your ordered item.
Returns are made at your own risk.
The personal details that you supply us with enable us to deliver your purchase in a manner that is both safe and convenient. When you purchase an item, we require your name, your Email address and the address to which your purchase should be delivered.
In order to take full advantage of our customer service options, we require you to open an account. The following services are then at your disposal:
If you wish to access a particular newsletter, we require your Email address. Of course, we shall send you only the newsletter that you have registered to receive.

If you make a written contribution to an online book discussion, we shall ask you for your Email address. But of course, the decision as to whether or not you wish to have this published together with your written contribution is your own. For competitions etc. we require your name, your postal address and your Email address in case we need to inform you.
Items ordered with the option “by postal delivery” will be delivered to the address supplied by the person placing the order. Items ordered with the option “to be collected in a branch” will be sent to the branch that has been selected by the person placing the order. Any delivery costs will be made known to the person placing the order on the page he/she is using to place the order before the order is submitted. For deliveries outside of Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the person placing the order is responsible for any additional tax or custom costs engendered. The vendor will carry out delivery within the quoted delivery time providing that the individual item ordered is supplied to the vendor by the distributor or publisher within the anticipated time frame. The vendor reserves the right to undertake partial shipments and any additional costs will not be debited to the account of the person placing an order.
After purchasing an ebook and/or acquiring of the right to use an audio book, the said items will be available for use as a download in your account.
The vendor reserves the right to temporarily interrupt or permanently remove any possibility of a further download of ebooks and audio books and/or to erase individual ebooks or audio books from the personal library of the person in question 60 days after having sent notification of its intention to do so to the Email address of the aforesaid person.

The Gift Card of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG
The general terms and conditions outlined below are valid for the gift card of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG.
The gift card is a debit card for which a credit balance is registered with Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG for the customer. The gift cards replace the former gift vouchers that remain valid until their date of expiry. The credit available on a gift card entitles the customer to purchase goods and make us of the services of Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG according to the general terms and conditions outlined below. These terms and conditions establish the clearly defined rules of the mutual relationship between the customer and Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG.
Purchase of a Gift Card
A gift card has no value until it has been charged at a till. No set amount has been charged to the card. Only after an individual card has been charged and paid for at the till is the system activated and thus available for use.
Gift cards have no set amount charged to them. You can determine the amount to be charged (from CHF 10.00 to CHF 1’000) to the card at any till in any Orell Füssli branch.
Once a gift card is activated with a credit balance, it can be used as a form of payment in all branches of Orell Füssli.
Gift cards can be recharged at any till in all branches of Orell Füssli. A recharge can only be made if the customer has the card on him/her at the time.
No interest will be paid on any credit balance.
Bookpoints cannot be accrued with the purchase of a gift card, nor can any customer discounts be claimed. Only when a gift card is used as a form of payment will bookpoints be given according to the amount of the purchase, or discounts may be claimed by the customer as with any other form of payment.
Gift Cards are not personalized and can be used by a third party. It should be viewed as a cash equivalent form of payment. Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG will not be held liable in the event of a gift card being lost, stolen or damaged. Cards will not be replaced. A gift card must be presented to a cashier for its credit balance to be accessed.
Redeeming Credit
A gift card must be handed to the till person for scanning for payment to be effectual. Payment is not possible if the customer does not have the card on him/her.
If a payment is not possible for technical reasons, Orell Füssli stores reserve the right to refuse payment with a gift card in individual cases.
The credit balance on a gift card can be used for full or partial payment of a purchase.
It is not possible to make a cash exchange for the credit balance of any given gift card, neither in part nor for the total sum nor can it be exchanged for some other form of voucher.
Any remaining credit on your gift card will expire 5 years after the date of purchase or recharge.
Data Safety and Data Protection
The Gift Card is not personalized and may be used by a third party. Because of this, no customer details are required for its purchase and usage. Up-to-date technology is used to ensure that data is protected. No liability will be accepted for any data sent via the Internet.

Place of Jurisdiction / Applicable Law
The place of jurisdiction is the main branch of Orell Füssli Holding in Zurich. In the event of any dispute, Swiss Law is applicable.
Amendments and Additions
Orell Füssli Buchhandlungs AG reserves the right to alter its Gift Card programme and its general terms and conditions at any time. The current version applicable is published on Orell Füssli’s Internet webpage at www.books.ch and is considered to be agreed upon by all parties at the time of publication. In the event of any point of ambiguity and/or contradiction in the German, French or English texts of the general terms and conditions, the German text is understood to be the authoritative version.
